Like many of my peers at the end of the twentieth century, for several decades my life got in the way of my spirituality. My story may be unusual because I found my way home to Judaism through my involvement with the Religious Society of Friends.Since 1988 I have been a regular attender at Orange Grove Monthly Meeting, in Pasadena, California. From time to time someone who was coordinating the adult education program would ask me whether I would be willing to share my spiritual journey with the meeting. And for years my response was, in effect: “not me, I don’t have one.” In the fall of 1996, having found my way back to the tradition of my ancestors, while still regularly worshipping at Orange Grove Meeting, I recognized that I had indeed been on a spiritual journey, and it seemed that the time had come to share it. This pamphlet grew out of a talk I gave to Orange Grove’s adult education session in October 1996.
